Managing your emotions during the final push

Managing emotion during the final push

With the 4th quarter comes a bevy of emotional changes that we are, for the most part, incapable of avoiding. Between holidays, weather and time changes and the final push in business through the end of the year we are confronted with a confluence of potential emotional disruptors. For our businesses sake and our sanity it’s critical to manage our emotions during the final push.

Pushing through the end of the year hard?

We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you! It’s our free gift to you.

Let’s take a look at what we need to be aware of to better manage our emotions during the final push of the year.

‘Time’s, they are a changing’

Discount Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) at your own risk. Between the time change, a shift in sunlight and potentially significant shifts in weather, many people are impacted by one or all 3 of these changes that tend to hit all about the same time at the start of Q4. Keep an eye on a shift in your emotions – if you begin to notice something you may be due for an increase in your vitamin uptake, AKA vitamin D and shifting your sleep routine to better match your circadian rhythm.

Celebrate Your Wins

It’s easy to get so focused on the end goal that it’s common to overlook our wins during Q4. It’s not just about the result at the end of the quarter but how you’re celebrating the little wins between now and then that will have the biggest impact on your emotions. With the stress of the final push at hand along with the holidays, take every advantage to celebrate the small victories during the journey. This is an especially important time to make sure you’re breaking down your goals into very small achievable victories.

Boundary Up

The last thing you’ll want during Q4 is minor distractions and headaches becoming major distractions and headaches. Putting some clear boundaries up and sticking with them is crucial during this time of year. Boundaries can be at work, at home, in between, with co-workers, colleagues, family and friends. Recognize what you need and what can hurt you up front and manage it. It’s one of the best ways to manage your emotions during the final push.
