Do - Consider Outsourcing

The last thing most of us want to do is give up control of who we hire to an outsider that doesn’t understand us or our business as well as we do. Yet bringing in an expert to consult and help assess candidates makes a ton of sense unless your background is cemented in hiring, hr or organizational psychology. Outside experts can help identify what traits really matter in your hire and help you identify the right person for the job.

Don’t - Hire for Tomorrow

Employment should not be permanent. Although it’s in our nature to want to hire the perfect person for a forever position, especially today, employment tends to last no more than 3 years. Be sure when you’re developing the criteria for your hire you keep in mind that the role is not permanent and hire for exactly what you need right now, not what you need forever.
