How to Own Your Brand and Stand Out

How to Own Your Brand and Stand Out

Branding is so much more than a logo or tagline. The best brands incorporate consistent messaging across all platforms and media to create a unified experience for the end consumer. Brands today are authentic, impactful and convey a business’s values. It is incredibly important to have a strong brand and to own it to separate yourself from your competitors and create trust with your end consumers. In today’s blog we’ll review a few ways you can ‘own’ your brand and stand out! Want to stand out? We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you! It’s our free gift to you. Access it here! We already covered why owning your brand is so important. We also recognize that most brands continue to evolve over time and we encourage everyone to consistently be reviewing their brand to make sure It continues to signify exactly what you intend! Here’s a few ways you can own your brand to better stand out! 1. Get a laser focused value proposition created Branding goes beyond fonts, logos and images and includes the value you offer as a professional and a company. Most people and businesses fail to offer compelling value propositions. Make sure your value proposition is crystal clear. People should be able to explain exactly what makes you or your products unique and worth purchasing. 2. Embrace candor Branding today is a delicate balance between authenticity and mob rule. While people crave and want authenticity there is a real risk of being canceled if your views divert from the masses. The best way to stand out today is to embrace authenticity and candor over your top values. This communicates what is most important to your consumers and shows that you’re willing to stand up for your beliefs. 3. Be consistent The biggest difference between the most successful and least successful often comes down to simple consistency. If you cherish consistency and process within your brand as a value that will permeate across all channels of your business. Consistency offers the greatest long term rewards for businesses and professionals. This is especially true within our branding. How we brand changes over time, but the importance of branding is a truism that will not go away. By understanding the importance of our brand and emphasizing our messaging and values we can truly stand out in any marketplace. How do you brand? Why It’s Important to Address Failure Directly

Failure is inevitable and it’s not a bad thing. We look at failure as a negative and yet, in the grand experiment that is life and business, failure is an absolute certainty. Everyone experiences failure and it’s often the best learning experience for us. Failure can be the best teacher and should be embraced. In this blog we’ll discuss why it’s so important to address failure directly. Don’t fail to check out our free giveaway for you! We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you! It’s our free gift to you. Access it here! Failure Does Not Mean Fault Failure and fault are two different things that we commonly lump together. Oh, something failed so whomever was responsible for that failure must be at fault. Yet that is rarely the case. If there is a failure, the statistics suggest that rarely is any single individual at fault (think less than 10% of the time). Failure is an opportunity to fix something broken, not an opportunity to assign blame and fault. Failure Helps Us Get Better There are different types of failures and many of them deal with uncertainty and experimentation. In these instances, our failures help us correct to more predictable outcomes. In other words, these failures drive innovation. If the failure is a result of effort to improve, it can absolutely be a positive. It’s All About Perception People will trust you more if you’re open about your failures. Everyone knows we’re going to have them from time to time, and it’s about how you deal with them that is most important. By addressing failures head-on we can emphasize to anyone paying attention that we’re aware of the failure, will put energy and time into correcting for them in the future and that will help develop more trust than simply pretending we are perfect! Tips to reduce tension using humor

Entrepreneur Mastery Lab Community Group - using humor to reduce tension

Humor is a powerful tool! For some of us it comes naturally and for others, not so much. That’s ok because even those of us that don’t have a single funny bone in their body can still learn to use humor effectively. In today’s blog we have some tips to help you use humor to reduce tension. 6 Methods To Make Sure Your Business Doesn’t Fail Before we discuss our tips, did you know that 70% of businesses will fail? We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you! It’s our free gift to you and you can access it right here. We also recently interviewed Lorena Tomasini of MALM Life and Health Insurance Agency. Our conversation ranged from risk management to cultural differences in sales to humor. This helped to inspire todays blog. You can listen in to the replay of our conversation on our podcast here, or you can watch it on our Youtube channel! Watch on Youtube Let’s face it. Business conversations can be tense. Often, even if we’re not talking about heavy topics like death we are still dealing with commitment and money. Both can be heavy triggers for a lot of people and the need for diffusing some of that tension is an absolute necessity in certain conversations. This is when humor can be an absolute life saver in your sales conversations. Here are 3 hacks to use humor to reduce tension. Hack 1 Humor can be used in almost ANY conversation. Truly. Talking about death? You can use humor. Hospital stays? Yup, humor. Cancer? Yeah, humor still works. Don’t be afraid to test humor in your conversations, especially when they are heavy. It will help ease some of the gravity of the conversation and allow you to focus on the solution and not the heavy topic at hand. Hack 2 Know your audience and know your timing. I know this sounds basic, but it can be hard to read the people in front of you, especially if you’re virtual. While humor can almost always be effective, if you don’t know your audience or get the timing wrong, humor may hurt more than it helps. If someone is seriously grieving this might be a dangerous time to use humor about death. Knowing your audience will help you decide if it’s an appropriate time to use humor. Hack 3 Learn what works and recycle it. For some people they don’t need to do this. They are naturally funny, able to be witty on their feet and probably are not even seriously reading this blog since they have such a comfort with humor. For many of the rest of us humor is difficult to capture. That’s why I’m a firm believer in finding some jokes that work well and implementing them, deliberately, into your conversations. Over time you’ll learn who to use them with, when to use them with and how to be most effective with your humor. Sales is a process and learning how to use humor to reduce tension is something you can absolutely build into your process. How To Stand Out In A Saturated Industry

Entrepreneur Mastery Lab - How To Stand Out In A Saturated Industry

You’re in a crowded room.  It’s loud.  You can barely hear the person across from you.  They can barely hear you.  Your throat is getting sore, you’re starting to feel frustration sink in and you know that there’s no way you’re going to be able to make any sort of real impression.  Welcome to business in today’s world!  If you’re struggling to stand out in a saturated industry, it can feel like what we just described.  In this blog we’ll offer a couple of ideas to help you stand out in a crowded room so you don’t feel like you have to shout until you’re hoarse! Our chat with Steph Weber, CEO of The Weber Co is our inspiration for this blog.  Steph talked to us about the alignment of brand and marketing strategies and recognizes that ALL industries are saturated, yours included!  You can listen in to the replay of our conversation on our podcast here, or you can watch it on our Youtube channel!   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RT4UxHxMm4 Watch on Youtube Idea #1  It’s not about reinventing the wheel; it’s about telling your story in a different way.  Successful businesses put the customer first, especially the customer needs.  The next time you need to stand out tell a story about your customer win’s.  Make it all about the customer, the ideal avatar and not about your business.  Share how a customer problem was solved and THEN you can talk about how you were able to solve it better than someone else! Idea #2 You are unique.  What makes you unique is your value.  Nobody else offers the same exact experience that you offer.  In a world where products and services are commoditized, if you want to stand out, your unique story needs to fulfill something to your customers and prospects that no one else is fulfilling.  Again, this is about your customers, however, what is unique to you is what can best serve your customers.  Magnifying this and crafting a strong story around it will help you stand out and cut through the noise! There are so many ways you can stand out from the competition.  If you’re curious for more, reach out to us and also listen to our most recent podcast!  We love providing you valuable content and answering your questions from the Entrepreneur Mastery Lab.  If you’d like to join us and other professionals that are striving to get better every day, you can access the group here! Be Transparent and Be Relatable

Entrepreneur Mastery Lab

We all matter. We all want to be heard. Every one of us has a different perspective from everyone else. How do we make sure that our message is being heard? One of the best ways to be heard is to be transparent and be relatable. Before we discuss how to be relatable, did you know that 70% of businesses will fail? We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you! It’s our free gift to you you can access it right here. In our most recent podcast, we chatted PR and personal branding with Liana Zavo of ZavoMedia Group. One of the top takeaways from our conversation is that people want to relate. They want to identify with you and they want you to be open with them. Many business owners struggle with finding their voice and then once they have found their voice, finding ears to listen to it! If you’d like to learn how to have more people hear you, you’ll want to listen in to our conversation with Liana. Liana went from a single mom, college drop out to CEO of a global PR firm and a large part of her story focuses on transparency and relatability! You can listen to the episode here. In The Entrepreneur Mastery Lab community, we have tremendous professionals like Liana available to connect with directly. If you struggle with branding, finding your voice or getting your message in front of others you’ll want to get involved with our group. To join our awesome community of rockstars like yourself, request access here! Best of all, it’s free! As business owners and professionals, it’s often difficult to be transparent. After all, being vulnerable is scary. When you find yourself in this struggle, ask yourself what is more scary for your prospects and clients. Is it more scary for your clients and prospects to work with someone that is willing to fully put themselves out there, or is it more scary for your clients and prospects to guess about what you’re truly like? The thing is, people are smart. They know you’re not perfect. They know you have a past. Heck, they can go google it in a matter of minutes and learn all about your background if they’d like to. The hard and simple truth is you can be up front with people from the get-go and you can be honest and you can be relatable, or you can choose not to be. But if you look at it from your clients and prospects perspectives, chances are you’ll recognize that you’re letting your own fear take center stage of addressing a fear of your clients and prospects. Putting yourself in front of the people you serve is almost always a mistake and will almost certainly hurt you more than it helps. If you’d like to earn the trust of your clients and prospects you need to be transparent and you need to be relatable. The next time you struggle with this, remind yourself that it’s not about you, it’s about the people you serve. What is most important to them? It might just help you take that extra step to be even more transparent and relatable. When you do that, you’ll start getting heard even more! If you’re working on being heard and relatable, we can help! Our unique 2 on 1 coaching marries the expertise of a Doctor of Psychology and mindset coach with the business savvy of a former Fortune 50 external regional sales manager. We specialize in helping entrepreneurs and professionals like you master your time, sales, and confidence, to evolve you to your greatest potential. To learn more about our coaching you can contact us here!
