Finding Balance in the Holidays!

Entrepreneur Mastery Lab - Finding Balance in the Holidays!

If we take the stance that work-life balance doesn’t exist and both blend together, especially during the holidays, it does beg the question: can you have balance during the holidays? We believe you can and want to offer a few tips on how you can find balance this holiday season! 6 Methods To Make Sure Your Business Doesn’t Fail Before achieving perfect holiday season balance, did you know that 70% of businesses will fail? We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you! It’s our free gift to you and you can access it right here. Take Responsibility for your own Balance A lot of people think balance and think 50/50. That’s crazy! First, there is a whole lot more to balance than just 2 things in life! Secondly, balance is what we make of it. By understanding how and where we want to prioritize our focus we can really reduce stress by taking accountability for what we want to prioritize. If that’s 70% of our time on business, 10% on family, 20% on ourselves, that’s ok, just own it! Set Boundaries The holidays are a difficult time to set boundaries. There are a tremendous number of societal pressures and family pressures on hand during this season that we don’t normally face. For some of us there is considerable professional pressure as well. Setting boundaries up front will help communicate our priorities to the people around us and stave off some of the conflict that comes from differing priorities. Find Perspective and Empathy Balance in the holiday season means being aware of more than our own situations and challenges. Almost without exception, everyone is dealing with the burden of additional stress during this time of year. Remembering to step outside of your own shoes will do wonders for many of us to help experience gratitude and fulfillment during the holiday season. How do you find balance during the holidays? What it means to be courageous in business

Entrepreneur Mastery Lab - Couragew

When you hear courage, you probably don’t immediately think about business. You may think of police officers and heroism, or service members overseas, firefighters from 9/11 but you aren’t too likely to think of business leaders. Yet everyday professionals and business leaders exhibit courage in business. What it means to be courageous in business is to develop and display the skill sets of risk/reward decision making, to admit you are without all the answers and to stand up for what is right. 6 Methods To Make Sure Your Business Doesn’t Fail Stay strong! Did you know that 70% of businesses will fail? We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you! It’s our free gift to you and you can access it right here. Courage Through Decision Making Taking calculated risks in business means to identify and take action on potential failures. It also means to weigh the risk of that failure with the reward of success. Great business leaders display strong risk adjusted decision making and continue to push the boundaries of what their business and they are capable of. This is a skill best developed through experience, mentorship and wisdom. The Courage to Not Know As business grows more complex our ability to be an expert in all aspects hits a wall. Our willingness to openly admit our own limits of knowledge is an essential skill for professionals and business owners today. Better to admit lack of knowledge and ignorance than pretend to know what we do not. The Courage of Standing up for What Is Right It’s easy as professionals and business owners to sacrifice integrity and ethics in the pursuit of business. After all, plenty of people and businesses are willing to look the other way or blatantly break the rules if they think they can get away with it. Standing up for what is right takes courage. It takes a willingness to accept losses that otherwise might not be taken. It also leads to a culture of excellence that will be unmatched by any other company or professional that is willing to compromise their ethics and integrity. Is courage in business important to you? 3 Hacks To Stop Defining Yourself By Your Work

3 Hacks To Stop Defining Yourself By Your Work

It’s easy to identify ourselves with our work. It’s been hardwired into us culturally since we were kids. What do you want to be when you grow up? The answers are never father, sister, avid runner, etc, are they? No, they are policeman, teacher, fireman, astronaut and so on and so forth. The problem with identifying and defining yourself by your work is that work will end, and we are MUCH MORE than just our work. So, when someone asks what you do and you respond with; writer, accountant, attorney etc, then it might be time for you to consider these 3 hacks on how you can stop defining yourself by your work! 6 Methods To Make Sure Your Business Doesn’t Fail Before we pull back the curtain on identity and defining ourselves, did you know that 70% of businesses will fail? We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you! It’s our free gift to you and you can access it right here. Hack #1 Don’t tell people WHAT YOU DO. When asked what you do, reply instead with WHO YOU ARE, or ask for clarity if they’d like to know what you do professionally or what you do for your hobbies or downtime. Although a small change this will help you rewire how you think about yourself. What we put out there becomes what we are! Hack #2 Stop objectifying yourself. In this instance, objectifying yourself means that you are distilling yourself down to one characteristic such as: I’m an entrepreneur, or, I’m a financial advisor. You are much more than that and by reducing yourself down to one simple thing you actively objectify yourself. Most of us won’t stand to see someone else being objectified, and it’s time for us to stop objectifying ourselves! Hack #3 Get away from it. Hustle culture is very real and can be quite toxic. If all you do is work and you never step away you’ll never really know if this is really who you want to be. Getting away and actually NOT WORKING when you get away allows you to find your center again. Your center is the place inside of you that is values and truth focused. It’s your beliefs and who you are. It will help you remember that you are much more than your work. Are you the type of person that could benefit from reshaping how you define yourself? How To Build A Flexible Schedule For Maximum Performance

Entrepreneur Mastery Lab - Flexible Schedule

Great news, you control your day!  Or do you?  Chances are if you’re an entrepreneur or service based professional you’ve developed a calendar that works for you.  Mostly.  You may have also picked up some habits that harm you more than they help.   Here are a few tips to help you build a schedule with flexibility so you can maximize your performance all day, every day. Before we discuss our tips, did you know that 70% of businesses will fail?  We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you!  It’s our free gift to you, you can access it right here. Secret 1 – Be more self aware Half of the battle with managing our calendars is recognizing how long it takes us to accomplish something. We’re typically pretty bad at this and deal with performance optimism. It’s the idea that we believe can get more done faster than we actually can. Do yourself a favor. If you want more flexibility in your schedule than add a little extra time for whatever is on your calendar. 60 minute meeting, better make it 70 minutes on the calendar. It’s amazing how much flexibility this will build and additional performance we can get out of the day. Secret 2 – Respect your time and everyone else’s If we try to schedule every minute of every day out we create an environment that will be break under stress. What do we mean by that? Well, life happens and to leave no time for life happening is, in our opinion, a very common and very costly mistake we see professionals make all the time. Plan for things to go wrong and we can find ourselves prepared for this and better able to handle it. Leave no room for life to happen and we all know how that can feel. Like a house of cards teetering and then crashing down. Secret 3 – Set aside time for yourself We aren’t robots, as much as we’d like to be sometimes. We need rest, we need little moments to recuperate. There was a study done on internal salespeople to see who performed the best. The highest performers were the smokers. No, nicotine doesn’t make better salespeople. But wouldn’t you know it, those smokers took a 5-minute break for themselves every 60-90 minutes. That few minutes for ourselves can make an enormous difference in our performance the other 55 or 85 minutes that follows. If we want to have a flexible schedule that allows for maximum performance this is a great way to ensure we can get it done all day long. 5 Essential Tips To Build A Successful Community

Building a successful community isn’t always easy.  Here are 5 essential tips to build a successful community you won’t want to skip over! Before we discuss our tips, did you know that 70% of businesses will fail?  We put together a FREE guide identifying the Top 6 reasons businesses fail and give you actionable steps you can take on every one of these to make sure it’s your competition failing and not you!  It’s our free gift to you you can access it right here. 1. Know who you want   Believe it or not, building a community means being as intentional about who we DON’T let in as who we do let in. Just grabbing anyone to build a community hurts more than it helps. Sure numbers and volume look good but if that person doesn’t share the values, doesn’t intend to be a part of the community and isn’t active, they end up taking more than they give.  2. Give  If we want to build a community, it’s important to understand that we all need to lead by example. Whatever the binding elements of your community are, we must be deliberate and we must be front in center showing everyone in the community that we embrace the shared values of the group. 3. Know your community  People join a community because they have a shared belief or value system. We all want to identify with other people, and we want to be accepted. To make sure we have a successful community make sure to know what is important for the community to share. Those common threads are what will form unbreakable bonds in a group!   4. Let people go Life isn’t static and we all change. What’s important to us today may not be as important to us tomorrow. As important as it is to bring people into a community it’s just as important to let people go. If someone isn’t a good for the community you’re developing, wish them the best and help them move on to someplace that they want to be. 5. Evolve Communities will change over time. Whenever we get a large group of people together, it’s natural for the groupthink to lead a community to a different place from where it started. By keeping a close eye on our communities, we can identify when we see shifts and evolutions happening. Instead of fighting a change, consider if it’s to the communities benefit first. If it is then we have an opportunity to help pave the road for a successful shift in our communities!
